Unique Approach

I have a focussed and flexible approach to my teaching, whether you want to study towards an exam, play for fun or start your own band, I can tailor to your needs.

One to One or Small Groups

Happy to teach one to one private lessons or small groups of up to 4 people for a more fun and relaxed approach.

Varied Lesson Times 

Times can vary from 30 mins - 1 hr or 45 mins for group lessons giving you the option to get the most out of each lesson.

About the tutor
Alan Travers BMus (Hons) 

Alan Travers has been teaching guitar and other instruments in Edinburgh and East Lothian for over 15 years. He has taught children as young as 5 to teenagers and adults of all ages. He has prepared school children for their exams, taught groups of people to play together in a band and inspired adults to take up a new hobby!

In 2012 he worked as a project musician for the renowned SAGE Gateshead and more recently for Lamp House Music School where over 15 of his pupils performed in their annual summer concert in Haddington. 

He is an RGT registered guitarist and has a PVG disclosure membership, a fun and friendly tutor who can adapt to all abilities and get the most out of each pupil he teaches.

Prices are a guideline only and may incur extra charges to cover travel costs to areas in East Lothian or outside Edinburgh. Lessons can be paid in bulk or individually and arranged at my own place in Edinburgh or at your home . Lessons can be flexible but cancellations must be no later than 24hrs prior to the lesson.
